About The Event
St John the Evangelist Cathedral was the burial place in 1921 of 2nd Lt. John Morgan Regan, who died while leading his men into battle on August 4, 1918. His was the first Gold Star placed on the service flag of St. John's parish flown in the cathedral to honor his service and sacrifice in the Great War.
On Armistice Day, 2018, the cathedral will put on a commemorative event during each service to honor the service and sacrifices of their World War One Doughboys , and the veterans of all of America's wars and conflicts.
