Honoring All Who Served: A Veteran's Day Celebration

Sunday, November 11, 2018, 09:00am - 12:00pm

About The Event

Honoring All Who Served: A Veteran's Day Celebration

The City of Stockton and the United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County will combine their annual Veteran's Day celebration with the World War 1 Centennial. Breakfast, free of charge, will be served to veterans and their families. We will have a Blessing of the Stage by local Native American Veterans. Colors will be presented by the USMC supported by the City of Sacramento Pipe and Drums. We will ring the Bells of Peace at 11:00 followed by the "Reading of the Names' of the 127 young men from San Joaquin County who gave their lives during the Great War. We will have two speakers - one a veteran and one from the VA Clinic. We will enjoy military renditions by the Edison High School Choir and the playing of Amazing Grace by bagpipes. Most importantly we will presenting our recent Gold Star family with a painting of their son, Sgt John Perry, who gave his life on November 11, 2016.
