The Nation Served: Wreath Laying Tribute to the States and Territories

This ceremony launches a series of commemorative events giving a first look at the National World War l Memorial, Washington, DC and marks the Centennial of the Armistice that ended World War I. Representatives from each state and territory will place a wreath in the park to honor and remember all who served.

  • 11:00 a.m. MC remarks, Jonathan Elias, Anchor/Reporter ABC 7 News (Confirmed)
  • 11:05 a.m. Welcome remarks, Commissioner Terry Hamby (Confirmed)
  • 11:10 a.m. Introduction of Guest Speaker (TBD)
  • 11:11 a.m. Remarks, Guest Speaker (TBD)
  • 11:20 a.m. Guest Speaker along with DC representative places first wreath for DC
  • 11:21 a.m. State/Territory representatives follow in procession and place wreaths
  • 11:36 a.m. Introduction of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie (Confirmed)
  • 11:37 a.m. Remarks, Secretary Robert Wilkie
  • 11:46 a.m. Introduction of Colonel Jennifer Pritzker, ILARNG (Ret.), founder of Pritzker Military Museum and Library (Confirmed)
  • 11:47 a.m. Remarks about 100 Cities/100 Memorials program, Colonel Jennifer Pritzker, ILARNG (Ret.)
  • 11:57 a.m. Introduction of U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Brass Quintet (Confirmed)
  • 11:58 a.m. Musical Performance, U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Brass Quintet
  • 12:13 p.m. Guests progress from program site to Special Events tent following ceremony for the 100 Cities/100 Memorials reception
