About The Event

The Calvert Marine Museum has prepared a program to honor and thank our veterans for their service.  The event will be held at the "On Watch" Memorial, an 8-foot-tall bronze statue by Maryland artist Antonio Tobias Mendez commemorating the people and work done at the Solomons Amphibious Training Base during World War II.  This, the nation's first amphibious training facility, was active from 1942 to 1945 and its effect on the area continues to be felt today.

Note: The event will be held at the On Watch Memorial.  The memorial is located in Solomons, Maryland at the end of Dowell Road (follow signs)
