Cali fornia State University at Channel Islands, Camarillo, California, and the History Department are pleased to announce that it will host a conference c ommemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I on November 8t h and 9th, 2018. The focus of the conference is Imperial Implosions : The Global Implications of World War I.
Featured spe akers at the conference will be Professor Sean McMeekin of Bard College and the author of The Russian Revolution (2017) and The Ottoman E ndgame: War, Revolution and the Making of the Modern Middle East (2015) and Professor Pria Satia, of Stanford University and the auth or of Empire of Guns: The Violent Making of the Industrial Revolu tion (2018) and The Great War and the Cultural Foundations of Brit ain's Covert Empire in the Middle East (2008)
Presentations will extend over both days and will include informative talks and educational d isplays. Speakers and contributions dealing with many aspects of the war, t hroughout the world, will deal with the significant historical implications and reverberations of World War I. Contact P.
