DESCRIPTION:The Rutherford World War I Centennial Committee in conjunction with the Rut
 herford Veteran's Alliance will hold a memorial planting of a Northern Red 
 Oak tree, the state tree of NJ, along with the dedication of a bronze plaqu
 e marking the centennial of the Armistice and the service and sacrifice of 
 all who fought during the Great War. The ceremonies will include participat
 ion in the national Bells of Peace initiative at this site and throughout t
 he Borough of Rutherford. Citizens of the borough are encouraged to attend 
 in remembrance of the courage and sacrifice of those that went before us so
  that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. Guests will include the Mayo
 r, Borough Council members and members of the Veterans Alliance.\n
