 VAG), the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chapter of th
 e Veterans Employee Association (VEA), the United States Public Health Serv
 ice Commissioned Corps (PHS), and the United States Department of Veterans 
 Affairs VACO (VAG/Center for Minority Veterans) will host the 2018 Veterans
  Day Ceremony and the theme is: ‘Honoring All Who Serve - WWI Centennial’ (
 1918 - 2018)’.</p><p>The 2018 Veterans Day Ceremony will honor, recognize,

 is Act was passed in order to honor and recognize the centennial of America
 's involvement with World War I, beginning in 1914, and continuing until 19
 18. ‘World War I remains America’s forgotten war, even though there were a 
 significant number of American casualties during that war equal to the numb
 er during Korea and Vietnam and it profoundly shaped the rest of “the Ameri
 can century.”&nbsp;</p><p>We are honored to have, in attendance, the Honora
 ble Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop
 ment (HUD), the Honorable Pamela H. Patenaude, Deputy Secretary, U.S. Depar
 tment of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Honorable Dr. Paul Lawren
 ce, Undersecretary for Benefits, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, (Keyn
 ote Speaker), the Honorable Chip Fulghum, Deputy Under Secretary of Managem

 trium. An array of Vendors whose services focus primarily on Military Veter
 ans and their families, including but not limited to: Veterans Benefits, TR
 I-CARE, Military Veterans Eligibility, Military Veterans Claims Processing,
  Women Veterans Services, VAOC - VAG Center for Minority Veterans Services,
  The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Veterans Legal 
 Services, will be on hand to answer questions, and provide services were ap

  October 25, 2018, the HUD Veterans Affinity Group (VAG) received a Proclam
 ation and Governors’ Citation from the Honorable Lawrence J. Hogan, JR., (G
 overnor, State of Maryland) for the VAG’s patriotic efforts to execute prog
 rams, projects, and activities to commemorate the Centennial of World War O
 ne (WWI), and for remembering and honoring those members of our nation’s Ar
 med Forces who sacrificed during WWI (1914 – 1918). The Governors Proclamat
 ion and Citation will be on display at the 2018 HUD Veterans Day Ceremony s
 cheduled for Thursday, November 8, 2018 (11:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. EDT) Brooke-
 Mondale Auditorium. (The Veterans Day Ceremony will be WEBCAST to all HUD R
 egional and Field Offices) \n\nAdditionally, on Thursday, November 8, 2018

 r the 8th &amp; I Marine Barracks for their Heroic actions taken on Wednesd
 ay, September 19, 2018, at the horrific fire which took place at the Arthur
  Capper Senior Citizens Public Housing complex in Washington, D.C. The 8th 
 &amp;I Marine Barracks, putting the safety and welfare of others before sel
 f, rushed into danger to save the lives of our senior citizens carrying our
  Seniors out of the burning structure on their shoulders, in wheelchairs, a

  contingent of 8th &amp; I Marines will be present at the HUD Veterans Day
