 erans for their service.  The event will be held at the "On Watch" Memorial
 , an 8-foot-tall bronze statue by Maryland artist Antonio Tobias Mendez com
 memorating the people and work done at the Solomons Amphibious Training Bas
 e during World War II.  This, the nation's first amphibious training facili
 ty, was active from 1942 to 1945 and its effect on the area continues to be
  felt today.\nNote: The event will be held at the On Watch Memorial.  The m
