About The Event

The Historical Museum of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria features an exhibit on the Military Chaplains of the diocese ranging from the famous priest-poet Rev. Abraham Ryan (once an assistant at St. Mary Cathedral in Peoria) up to current chaplains on duty. The display consists of detailed military chaplaincy timeline, amazing excerpts from the chaplains' letters, testimonies in their own words, photos, authentic artifacts display including a field Mass set up, Mass kits, most unique tabernacle made of torpedo casing, "news-wall" of numerous enlarged news clippings announcing the priests' leaving their parishes to go to military, stories of humbling bravery and giving life for another...etc. The exhibit honors over 50 military chaplains of the Diocese of Peoria, living and dead.
