Commemoration Through Rehabilitation: Reconstruction Aides and the Aftermath of World War I

Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 06:00pm - 07:00pm

About The Event

Historian Allison S. Finkelstein will share the postwar legacy of World War I reconstruction aides, civilian women who treated injured soldiers and formed the origins of the Army's Medical Specialist Corps. After pioneering rehabilitation practices during WWI, these women worked to professionalize their field as they commemorated the war through their continued support of the men and women who served in it.
