Tribute to the Homefront

The war abroad meant daily life on the homefront was drastically altered and those at home seized any opportunity to aid the war efforts. This event honors the contributions of organizations that served on the homefront during the extraordinary times of World War I.

• 12:20 p.m. Introduction of American Red Cross Representative (TBD)
• 12:21 p.m. Remarks, American Red Cross Representative (TBD)
• 12:26 p.m. Introduction of Purple Hearts Reunited Presentation (Confirmed)
• 12:27 p.m. Purple Hearts Reunited representative presents medals to two families
• 12:37 p.m. Introduction of the film “A Soldier’s Journey”

• 12:48 p.m. Introduction of WW1 Memorial lead designer Joe Weishaar (Confirmed) and sculptor Sabin Howard (Confirmed)

• 1:03 p.m. Presentation and conversation with Joe Weishaar & Sabin Howard
• 1:04 p.m. Introduction of Major James Shiels, USA, Salvation Army Representative (Confirmed)
• 1:05 p.m. Remarks, Major James Shiels, USA, to discuss the role in of the Salvation Army in WWl and referencing Donut Lassies
• 1:10 p.m. Donut Lassies provide dessert (Confirmed)
  • Salvation Army to provide three donut lassies in costume
• 1:15 p.m. Program concludes
