The City of Cape May and the Greater Cape May Historical Society rededicates the 1923 Soldier and Sailors Monument. Known locally as the “All Wars”, it is the only Cape May County monument to the Great War. The day begins with an annual Veterans Day ceremony lead by members of the local VFW followed by the Society’s rededication and the close of the WWI commemoration year. Wreaths will be made by the Cape May Garden club to be placed at the base of the refurbished polished monument for each WW1 county solider who died in battle or from influenza. The monument can now be viewed at night with solar lights. Local Coast Guard recruits will provide a 21 Gun Salute.
