Maryland Military Band Concert

About The Event

The Maryland Military Band will perform WWI-era music at Fort McHenry to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of The Great War on November 11, 1918. From 1917-1923, Fort McHenry was home to the 3,000 bed US Army General Hospital No. 2, and eventually more than 20,000 sick and wounded soldiers would pass through the hospital on their way home from the war. In addition to performances by the Band there will be commemorative flag raisings and moments of silence scheduled during the day, along with WWI interpreters and special exhibits by park staff. For more information about this special anniversary event, please visit: www.nps.gov/fomc/

The all-volunteer membership of The Maryland Military Band includes former and retired musicians from military bands including The US Air Force Band, The US Army Field Band, The US Marine Band, National Guard bands, and The Maryland Defense Force Band, as well as other former and retired members of the US military.    (http://mdmilband.org/)
