The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism and the Harrisburg Peace Promenade: A project of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities will
have Harrisburg and surrounding Citizens, Gathering, Paying Homage, and Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of WWI.
A Convocation will be held at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center HMAC 1110 N. 3rd Street. from 10 am - 11am. Bells of Peace Tolling of Bells by Twelve (12) Midtown Churches and the National Fire Museum at 11 am. A Promenade(walk) following the Convocation will lead to Three WW1 Monuments-Women's WW1 Monument, WW1 Firefighters Monument and the Lest We Forget WW1 Soldiers Monument. With dignitaries providing Homage at each Memorial along with Music and reflections by a Poet Laureate. A Noon reception will be hosted by the Salvation Army Doughnut Girl WW1 Re-enactors following the Lest we Forget WW1 Soldier's Memorial in the Sunken Gardens next to the WW1 Soldiers Memorial.
