Town of Braintree on a tree planting project this coming Saturday, October
13, 2018, at 10AM on French's Common, next to the Braintree Town Hall.&nbs
p; The trees will honor the men and women of Braintree who served in World
War I.Tree planting was a world wide Rotary International project last year
. it is continuing. I first became a member of the Rotary Club
in 1972 and am now an Honorary Member, and Official Club Historian, of the
Braintree Rotary Club; as well as Post Historian of Braintree Post 86 of th
e American LegionThis past summer I heard that the Club was going to plant
ten trees as part of the overall Rotary tree planting project. I sugg
ested that the ten trees be planted in honor of the men from Braintree who
lost their lives in World War I. The reaction to this idea was instan
t and positive. The number of trees has now grown to eighteen. Wh
at I am suggesting to the Braintree Rotary Club is that the following be do
ne:1. One tree each to honor the memory of the twelve Braintree men w
ho died: &nbs
