 n Sunday, November  11th observing the centenary of the Armistice which bro
 ught peace and an end to the First World War (originally, “The Great War”),
  leading to the establishing of Armistice Day as an annual day of remembran
 ce that would officially become Veterans Day in 1954.  The State of Michiga
 n has proclaimed November 11, 2018 as ‘World War I Remembrance Day’, as has
  the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission to honor the memories of those 
 who served and those who lost their lives in the Great War. Lincoln Park’s 
 two veterans’ chapters, American Legion Post 67 and VFW Post 552 are co-spo
 nsors and participants in the  commemoration event that will begin at 10:45
  a.m. Lincoln Park Mayor Thomas Karnes, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell a
 nd other government officials will be on hand to take part in the ceremony.
  Museum curator, Jeff Day, states, “we will be observing the 11:00 a.m. bel
 l-tolling here on the museum grounds, joining with communities across the c
 ountry and the world at the appointed hour: the 11th hour of the 11th day o
 f the 11th month.  We are gathering just a bit earlier to start the ceremon
 y at 10:45 a.m. The ceremony will feature the reciting of names of those me
 n from our community who served in the Great War and will include the Prese
 ntation of Colors along with readings, prayers, and music.” All are invited
  to attend, with a special invitation being extended to anyone whose ancest
 ors served in the Great War. The museum will have special hours on Sunday,N
 ovember 11th, remaining open to the public until 2:00 p.m.  The ceremony wi
