 urvived. Virtually every family in Britain and many in the USA were affecte
 d by the loss of a relative or friend who fought in this war to preserve ou

  of the time. One hundred years after World War I ended, we celebrate the e
 nd of the the war and thank those men, women and animals who took part in i
 t. Over 16 million humans, 9 million horses and one million other animals o
