Larry Jensen used a chain saw to carve this wooden eagle from a white pine stump. It raises its right wing to represent soldiers who returned from service, and holds its left wing to its side to represent those who did not return. It was dedicated on October 13, 1991. as a tribute to the veterans of wars from WWI through the Persian Gulf War.

"Metal sculpture of a "doughboy" from World War I was crafted by Ken Nyberg. Ken, a regional metal artist, has created many wonderful, life-like, realistic and whimsical statues that are on display in many local communities. Many of his sculptures are made with bits of scrap metal.

This statue is a memorial to World War I but the plaque honors all veterans."
