1918 Hundredth Anniversary

About The Event

The Orleans Historical Society will hold a three day commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the shelling of Nauset Beach by German U-156. Guest speakers will include authors of books about the subject, exhibits, and other town-wide events.  We will have a speech at Nauset Beach in front of the plaque commemorating the attack. Some activities will be at the OHS Meetinghouse and others will be held in different venues around town on July 20, 21 and 22, 2018.
