Museum After Hours: Missouri and the Great Migration

Wednesday, December 06, 2017, 08:00am - 05:00pm

About The Event

This program continues the Missouri State Museum's monthly Museum After Hours Series, which occur the first Wednesday each month.

In December join us for Missouri & the Great Migration.

The Great Migration was the internal movement of nearly
6 million black Americans from the oppressive Jim Crow
south to northern industrial centers. This mass relocation
began before the Great War but rose steadily throughout
the conflict, changing Missouri’s demographics and racial
landscape.

Join Museum Curator Sydney Johnson as she explores the implications of this mass movement on Missouri in the wake of the 1st global conflict.
