Mississippi- Tonya Hays and students from the WINGS Performing Arts
Tonya Hays and students from The Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, MI. As I mentioned last week, the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for Children was a 2016 recipient of the Nation’s Highest Museum and Library Honor.  The Institute of Museum and Library services award the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center the
2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The First Lady of the United States presented the award last week- image here
One of the major programs at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is WINGS Performing Arts. Last year,  a group of high school students performed their original production, Remembrance, created in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Great War.  The program is based on the rich legacy of WWI poems, letters and music.  Remembrance honors the patriotism, sacrifice desolation and aftermath from WWI.
