'Fox & Friends' airs segment about the National World War I Memorial in Washington, DC

Last Friday, TV's 'FOX & FRIENDS' morning show taped a studio-segment, featuring our new National World War I Memorial for Washington DC.

The show segment was aired on Tuesday, February 20. The segment can be viewed online here.

Chair Terry Hamby and sculptor Sabin Howard represented the Centennial Commission, and talked about the project's progress with 'FOX & FRIENDS' host Steve Doocy.

They unveiled -- for the first time on national television -- the new scale-model maquette, which depicts the memorial's sculptural design concept.

The U.S. World War I Centennial Commission was authorized by Congress to create a national memorial to honor the American men & women who served during the war. Congress also provided the site for the memorial, in DC's Pershing Park, adjacent the White House and the National Mall.

The National World War I Memorial is being built via private donation. This television appearance will help us to increase our visibility among the American public, and will help us, hopefully, with our fundraising efforts.

The Centennial Commission is working closely with the U.S. National Parks Service, the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, and the National Capital Planning Commission to develop the memorial at the Pershing Park site. Information on the memorial can be found here: www.ww1cc.org/memorial
