Eugene Paul Gates, Sr. was born around 1886. Eugene Gates served in World War 1 with the United States Army. The enlistment was in 1917 and the service was completed in 1918.
E. Paul Gates was an ambulance driver in France in WW1 and was a personal friend of Ernest Hemingway, also an ambulance drive,r who became a famous author.
