Michigan's World War 1 Centennial Commissions honors the band Sabaton for their Excellence in song writing and performance of songs about historical events especially, the First World War. Sabaton honored members of Michigan's WW1 Centennial and Michigan Military Heritage Museum by playing the WW1 themed song "Lost Battalion". Sabaton also received 5 challenge coins for the band members, Challenge Coins can be traced back to the First World War and are in use today with the U.S. Military!

Learn about the only All Volunteer Regiment from Michigan during the Great War. The 16th Regiment of Engineers (Railway) They were organized, mobilized and trained in the city limits of Detroit. They arrived early to build the infrastructure for the American Expeditionary Force, were part of the largest construction project in France during the war and supported the American First Army in the Meuse Argonne Offensive.
